Choti Diwali is celebrated a day before the grand Diwali celebrations. It marks the second day of the five-day long Diwali festival which is also called as Panch Maha Parva. It begins on Dhanteras and ends with Bhai Dooj. Choti Diwali is also called as Narak Chaturdashi, Narak Chaudas or even Kali Chaturdashi.
Apart from the traditions and rituals, Choti Diwali is a festival full of fun and enjoyment. Decked up in traditional outfits, people celebrate the festival with a lot of enthusiasm and joy. The biggest festival of the year is marked by lighting diyas and fireworks, making rangolis, distributing sweets and wishing friends and relatives good luck and well being in their life.
